The main line to Auckland - are you sure?

... I felt like asking the TranzMetro station officer - but then realised he would know - since he's one of 30 people based at what used to be the end of the electrified suburban line - Paekakariki. The line now runs to Paraparaumu, but they were doing essential track maintenance so buses replaced trains between Paekakariki and Paraparaumu from 7am to 6pm. I'd seen flowers growing across the tracks - it's a narrow, single-track line with toytown like tunnels along the Kapiti Coast.
