E-mail despatch - week 14

The week has been a varied one, starting on Monday in Alice Springs in 35C heat, ending today, Friday in Melbourne with the miserable temperature of 11.7C right now (2200hrs).  Next thing we’ll be discussing starting up the gas furnace to get the ducted heating happening.  Personally, I think nothing beats a warm jumper and a hot drink or getting under the bedclothes.  So much better for the planet and the gas bill.  I have had some time with University volunteer pals http://raspeople.blogspot.com and the RMIT Student Leadership Program induction was on Wednesday morning.  I went to an interview for a job at http://www.smsmt.com which seemed to go reasonably well.
Monday: lunch with John and Sean and new sister-in-law at RFDS Café in Alice Springs.  Dinner on the run between band rehearsal and Jam Session at the Todd Tavern http://www.toddtavern.com.au/facilities.shtml
Tuesday: Flight back to Melbourne over lunch time (2hrs).  Uni volunteers party/BBQ in late afternoon/evening.  Car broke down.
Wednesday: SLP induction session.  Preparation for job interview.
Thursday: Preparation for job interview.  Interview itself.  Tried to collect repaired car but not quite ready.
Friday: Some minor paint preparation work in morning before visitors for lunch and most of the afternoon.
